Viet Nam’s recent economic gains have been accompanied by rapid urbanisation, unemployment and homelessness. This has forced many families and children to migrate to cities in search of a “better life” - often putting children at risk of abuse and exploitation. However, the income and con- sumption gap between the poorest and the richest quintile of the population has been widening ever since market-based economic reforms began a decade ago.

The aim of this project is to produce a series of images that portray variety of children who are, in reality, living under difficult circumstances (i.e. street children or from poor backgrounds), in scenes that represent their future dreams and aspirations- e.g. to be able to go to school, to be a teacher, a doctor, a barber, etc.

Each image that represents a child’s dream would be presented along with a simple portrait of the child and a description of their challenging circumstances in reality- challenging the audience, in the hope of promoting awareness and gaining their support.
